Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has requested "substantial measures" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted the country's power systems, describing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were wounded.

The strikes follow periods of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
