I'll stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really proceeding.
